Art trade with :iconharvhe:
We decided to draw each other a picture inspired by a song that we imposed each other.
The song she gave me was "Norwegian wood" by Beatles...And so there it is.
I decided to express more the atmosphere and the song mood more than its litteral sense...And I couldn't avoid myself to think about a forest...And a moose. Because, you know, Norwegian...Nervermind.
I also tried a new, more relaxed style...  I hope that Harve will like it too! ^^

Critique as requested:
I see you were going for a expressive, "cartoony" style. I'll keep the critique within that context.
Overall, I like the developed style. However, I would like to see more contrast between the grass, bathtub, and the wall. I don't don't if you were going for a "black-and-white" only kind of style, but the limitation there creates a situation in which forces you to use outlines to differentiate the objects. This shows up especially in the areas regarding the moose-the feet with the grass, and the moose's antlers with the dark background. Anyways, besides contrast, I wish for more details on the trees and the wooden wall. The white outline surrounding the antlers (on the right side of the moose) is not good (in my opinion), but I like how you used different directions to differentiate the background from the antlers.
However, the art style is well done, defined, and unique. The textures on the boy's clothing and on the grass is defining, and I hope to see more of that on the moose. The window sill's texture throws me a bit off (looks furry?).
But overall, I can see that you are beginning to develop a feel for ink work, and if you take a look at your most recent ink studies, you can tell the difference. Your most recent ink works are phenomenal, and I love the contrast and the technique used in regards to those pieces. The think and thick lines provide the definition required for the animals, and I think you know that you have improved a lot since then.
This is my critique, and I look forward to your future works.
